We are in the middle of Rosh HaShana – Jewish New Year and the Days of Awe, which is a time to reflect upon the past year and the year to come. Next week, we celebrate Yom Kippur and then Sukkot – which celebrates the Hebrew’s passage through the Desert into the Promised Land.
A major part of the Hebrew New Year celebration is to sound the Shofar – or- Ram’s horn.
In ancient Israel music was used as a means to deeply connect with the Divine spirit. Singing was used for spiritual and healing purposes. The prophetess Miriam is an excellent example of this. She led the people in joyous refrain to the Divine for miraculously parting the seas and allowing for their safe passage towards the Promised Land.
The ancients were very skilled and adept in the science of sound.
The piece of music in the video below was recorded live on Rosh HaShana – wordless singing and rhythm – a congregation of perfectly imperfect voices – singing in harmony. They had no special training nor musical aptitude. Just a desire to connect to the healing voice and rhythm of your their individual and our collective good.
What does the sound evoke for you?
Listen an allow the voice and rhythm to permeate your heart…on Fri. Oct. 14, we’re going to have a MAJORLY COOL worldwide event where we will sing together…It’s gonna be a GRAND experiment!
A Song from the Heart for New Beginnings…
New Webinar: Healing Voice & Rhythm for New Beginnings – Friday, October, 14 at 5pm PDT
Frame Drum teacher Marla Leigh Goldstein and I will be leading a Live Webinar on Friday, October 14 at 5pm PDT were speaking this morning, and we both got inspired to offer a LIVE prayer for new beginnings.
Our thinking behind this, is that we would all come with a prayer in our hearts for ourselves, and for our mutual good. If you have an idea you’d like to contribute – PLEASE let us know (comment below or on the Facebook page).
We chose the day and time to coincide with the Sabbath – Shabbat – as it too, is traditionally known as the Divine Feminine bride. The Sabbath eve is time to stop, rest, heal the stress from the work week, and appreciate good.
I will be teach the above Song from the Heart – (like in the video – recorded live in Galilee, with a large group of people (just like you :-)….on Rosh HaShana a few years back. and we will sing together. Marla will be teaching healing rhythms to help you connect to the pulse of your good.
Both, will open you up to your flow of good. Each of us will contribute his or her voice…together we will form a unified whole…these are the Voices of Eden – creating Eden on earth…one authentic voice at a time!
Imagine, each one of us inviting our friends, gathering to share the healing voice and rhythm of good, during these auspicious times during the ancient Hebrew holidays.
This is a great opportunity for those of you who have been asking for more rhythm – Marla is a fabulous teacher. She has graciously gifted a Four Week Introductory Frame Drum Course for each person who signs up for the Israel Journey.
For those of you who are wanting to experience the healing power of your own voice (in the privacy of your own home), this will be a GREAT opportunity for you.
If you haven’t already visited us around the well – come by and like us on our facebook community.
